Firstly apologies for the delay with this blog, I'm not slipping I promise. I've had a few second thoughts recently about whether or not I should be writing this blog at all and have just held this one back until I decided what I do. Anyway, in a full circle I've decided that the reason I started out in the first place was to inspire people, particularly career minded women that aren't sure about having children etc and I'm still super passionate about that so I'll continue . . .
Now I've finished catching up with my life on this blog so that you, my lovely readers, have all been privy to snippets of the many adventures I've had so far, but on from that I will be concentrating on the here, now and of course all of my future plans (you know me, always planning!)
With the Royal Wedding gripping the Nation last Friday I too got involved in this event that will be part of history. Don't get me wrong I'm certainly no Royalist but it was great to watch it (well snippets anyway) and get involved. When I say 'get involved' really I mean by making and eating a feast of cucumber sandwiches, one of my home baked Victoria sponges and many other delights to share with my Mum and Sister, who came over to watch the ceremony with me. Other massive stories everyone was talking about over the bank holiday weekend were that Osama Bin Laden was found in Pakistan and killed, swiftly followed by him being buried at the bottom of the sea - I still personally can't get my head around that but can understand that they don't want his grave to become a shrine for other extremists. Just seems like a lack of evidence to prove he's actually dead, not that I want to see a photo or anything but I'm sure those affected by his actions wouldn't mind. Finally, and on a lighter note, some huge local news was that Norwich City Football Club were promoted to the Premiership after their match Monday, so this is great news for Norwich as a community and will hopefully give a boost to businesses in the area next season. So that's my news update for the week - usually I wouldn't bother mentioning all this but they are all big stories and if my daughter is to read my blog one day I thought it would be great for her to know what was going on during the year she was born . . .
It has dawned on me over the last week that I am well over half way through my pregnancy already, now into my 24th week leaving just 16 before my due date! This is partly exciting as I can't wait to see our little girl and what she looks like etc - so many things I keep wondering . . . will she have dark hair, light hair or perhaps she'll be like me and have no hair for the first year?!! Who's eyes will she have? Will she have lovely olive skin like James? It's safe to say she'll have a fair size nose with both James and I having generous sized ones ourselves and I'd love it if she has James' lovely full lips, which it did look like on the last scan so fingers crossed. Of course the most important thing is that she is healthy but it's fun imagining what she'll look like, after all it's not everyday you create another human being!
Physically, this week, there seems to have been significant changes for me in my pregnancy . . . Most obviously my bump is growing by the day and I even had to order a new belly-button bar as the old one started to feel tight! I also feel like I've put a bit of weight on my legs and backside, this was confirmed not only by my skinny jeans feeling tighter on my legs (granted they still just about fit and are size 8 but I won't be wearing them much longer now!) but also by my lovely husband who answered my question 'have I put weight on my backside?' a little too honestly - it's safe to say he'll probably hesitate a bit the next time I ask such a question ;-) I've also been getting terrible restless legs, particularly at night time when I want to get some shut-eye. This teamed with a rock hard bump where my flat belly used to be and the little one deciding to be most active when I lay down makes it a little tougher to get to sleep, which I wasn't really expecting for a few months yet, but on the upside I suppose it's all good practice for potential sleepless nights ahead! Talking of baby movements, this is something that has changed too . . . where I used to get all feelings really low down, now this has changed and she appears to have shifted upwards with kicks and wriggles nearer my naval, which is a strange but lovely feeling and several times I've been able to watch my tummy moving as she's shifting around - all very alien but I absolutely love it!! On the downside I have been feeling a bit grotty over the past few days; dizzy and aching with headaches that really should be saved for deserved hangovers not as some kind of sick reward for being t-total!! I'm not sure whether this is pregnancy related or just a bug but either way I'm sure it won't last too long and I'll be back to blooming before I know it!

After the Royal wedding on Friday we had a BBQ with Mum, Bryan and Yaz followed with an evening at one of the local pubs where there was a big tribute to Trevor organised by the huntsman who were also all so fond of him. A lovely thought and a good opportunity to see the rest of the family and meet other people who were there out of respect for Trevor.
Over the rest of the weekend I got to catch up with lots of people as my friends Kerry and Austin had a birthday party for their two year old son - a bit scary that at his third birthday we'll have an eight-month old!! It was great seeing lots of friends that I haven't seen for a while and a reminder to arrange more regular get togethers! James and I also had our friend Morris over for a BBQ dinner and a few drinks, followed by tea and massive pieces of cake whilst watching Britain's Got Talent - it was lovely to catch up and a novelty to sit in the lounge and watch TV - something we strangely haven't done for an age! Finally, we spent time chilling and also nipped down to London to The ExCel on Monday for The Grand Designs Live show to have a nosey and also for me to meet one of my clients. Great show and James and Bryan (who came with me) were in their element with all of the building related stands!!

The other part of my thinking recently, I've got to be honest, is a shade of panic about getting everything done that I plan to with my business. I'm still getting frustrated with the length of time it's taking to get my website sorted but know this is mainly due to the bank holidays we've had. Also, I was hoping to have had my business cards by now but am yet to test my business line, as want this done before I order them incase the number doesn't work. This hasn't happened yet as I've had problems with BT over the last few weeks which has put the brakes on this stage a bit too. All of these things are meant to try my patience though, so I am taking them on board and with a few deep breaths, counting to ten and biting my tongue regularly I am managing to remain calm-ish! I am desperate to get pushing my business Social Media accounts but don't want to do this until my website is live, so fingers crossed it will be within the next two weeks, otherwise my calm-ish state may scale the wrong way a little. If you feel like helping me get a head start with some friendly followers before I am able to push them out to Joe public please click and follow / like my Twitter and Facebook accounts, as it would be great to have your support.

I am still determined to get at least a handful of new clients by the time we reach the start of August and already I have a great team in place to deal with many of the linked business services that we will be offering in addition to the Social Media campaigns; such as copywriting (primarily blogs and website content), proof reading, graphic and web design, SEO, database management, email and other general marketing techniques and a variety of PR strategies. So that's what my business does in a nutshell, just thought you'd like to know. Also, if you recommend anyone I do have a referral scheme in place to pay you commission for every new client that signs up to one of our Social Media campaigns, so bare that in mind next time you come across someone with their own business . . .
Glad to see a new update to your blog Kaori, I really enjoy reading them and know others that I inspired by your experiences.
