Wow, I can't believe another week has gone by already! Where is the time going??!!
In all honesty I'm feeling pretty tired whilst writing this as I have been suffering with restless legs and typically it's worse when it comes to bedtime. I used to get it before but now I'm pregnant it's much worse and have been close to tears on a couple of occasions, as getting to sleep when all you want to do is thrash your legs around is next to impossible. Fellow sufferers of RLS will know what I mean! Incidentally, if anyone out there knows of a good remedy for restless legs when you're pregnant please let me know as I'm getting desperate! Tonic water is said to be good to prevent it, however with the quinine in it I'm not sure I'm supposed to have it when I'm pregnant . . . am really hoping this is short lived as trying to work with the general persona of a zombie is not good for business! ;-)
Aside from the restless legs all else with the pregnancy is hunky dory and the little one is continuing her acrobatics to keep me entertained - perhaps she's trying to take my mind off of the restless legs? I had a midwife appointment this week, which was all pretty standard I think - blood pressure, urine sample to test for several things which were all ok and then the most exciting part of listening to the babies heartbeat. James came to this appointment with me as hadn't been able to make any before so he was chuffed to hear this but not so keen on the new midwife that was seeing me. My usual midwife is going to be off for a few months, so apparently I'll be seeing a different one each time now. I don't mind, so long as they're each cheery when they see me!
I've had another busy working week and achieved pretty much everything I set out to so am happy with that. My website is almost finished now with just the 'Contact Us' page and a few little additions to do, so should be ready for launch at the end of next week - my target is the 1st June at the very latest. I'm hoping the next time I publish a blog you will be able to see the site so watch this space. If you're impatient though you can see a mock up and basic version of what my actual website will look like on my Facebook page. The links don't work yet as the site needs to be live but it gives you an idea . . . You just need to follow this link facebook.com/visionodyssey and click on 'My Site' on the left hand side of the page, oh yes and please feel free to 'like' the page whilst you're there! I know, the cheek of it! I've also worked an early shift at the council this week and am doing another tomorrow morning which is going to hurt if I can't sleep again tonight - whoops, power of attraction . . . of course I will have a fantastic nights sleep and feel as fresh as a daisy getting up at 5.30am to go to work! ;-)
Socially this week has been a bit slow, so I intend to make up for it in the next few weeks! It started well with a lovely lunch with my friend Emma and her little girl, since then I've seen my Mum, Sister, Step-Dad, Grandparents and James and been treated to a leg massage and reflexology by my talented Ma so not all that rubbish now that I think about it! I also had a meeting with the Eastern Landlords Association with Bryan, as have been helping him set up a property management and maintenance business, so another opportunity to escape the office for a few hours and catch up with an ex-colleague from my broker days. Talking of the new property business, if you or anyone you know based in Norfolk need any property maintenance carried out or you know any landlords that would be interested in their properties being managed by a small team of experienced landlords feel free to email godfreyproperty@yahoo.co.uk with your enquiry.
Now to . . .
KAORI'S MOTIVATIONAL WEEKLY CHALLENGE:
A big thank you and congratulations to Dawn Bradbury for getting on board with last weeks 'Smile & the World smiles with you' challenge. Dawn made a new friend by simply making conversation with someone whilst out walking her dog, see it's as easy as that folks!
'Be thankful for what you've got' - We all at times feel a bit down in the dumps but I do like to always try and look on the bright side of things, granted not at all times - I'm no superhuman! However life is far too short to be concentrating on negatives and don't those people who seem to think life has dealt them a bummer really get you down?! We all know people like that and unfortunately they are drains on us, psychic vampires I like to call them. It's tough if they're old friends, but if you can't inspire them into a more positive way of thinking then perhaps it's better to spend less time with them. Sad in some cases but life can be short, so whilst we can we need to be happy and to do that we need to be surrounding ourselves with happy, smiley people who are grateful for what they've got and that they are alive. Therefore this coming week I think we should all concentrate on what makes us happy. To help inspire you I have posted below the most fantastic video by a guy called Nic Vujicic - bet you can't watch this and tell me your life is tough! ;-)
I really want to hear from you lovely people this week, let's remind each other what we get up for each morning, why we smile, laugh and treasure life - I'm really looking forward to lots of comments, come on folks don't be shy! x

If you did anything and forgot to tell me you can still comment under this blog or the previous one as it will be good to keep the momentum going!
Talking of which, onto this weeks challenge . .

ReplyDeleteThis morning I did a bit of positive reflection... Took some time to think about some of great things I have achieved in life and the amazing people I have been fortunate to spend my time with...
ReplyDeleteI also published my first Enriching Life blog which is intended to spread a positive message and enhance peoples lives...
Thanks for the inspiration Kaori.... x x x x x
Hey..Loving the Updates :-) Which midwife is off kaori? Thought i'd add what makes my day more worth getting up for...My awesome family for a start, the smiles that i am greeted with from my gorgeous monkey, the thoughts of what our little girl is going to be like/ look like and to make the most of every day with them and to continue to make them proud :-) Amz xxx
ReplyDeleteI have such a large loving family, that I only have to think of or talk to any one of them to brighten my day. Reading your blogs should cheer any one up, it does me.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog as usual, just thought I'd let you know about last week challenge. New little art gallery opened it Berkhamsted a few weeks back and had my first visit last week. Thought I'd get chatting to the owner as opposed to just leaving after my browse, lovely woman, got a good insight to how it all came about and you never know I might even take some photos in some time since we are now on first name terms! It doesn't stop there though, a day or so later went out on my bike and stopped at a nearby church to take a photo, two oldish boys in there got chatting, talking about bikes and allotments and got invited to join the congregation on Sunday, will give that a bit a miss but a nice chat all the same! Right on to this weeks challenge :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat work all! Keep them coming ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou read my mind, or mood at least! Just what I needed to snap out of it. Now I am focusing on the inspirational moments, some of which weren't even that long ago. Like... sharing a bit of music with someone you know will appreciate it, laughing lots, seeing new sights, trying new food, driving to work on a sunny day with ridiculously loud music on (and most likely singing along badly too). Thank you Kaori :)
